71-year-Old Pastor Of Foursquare Church Assassinated By Gunmen In Benin

A seventy one year old pastor of Foursquare Gospel Church, Reverend David Memem was allegedly assassinated by unknown gunmen at his residence at Number five, Emokaro Avenue, G.R.A, Benin City.

According to reports reaching Maxnaija from the residence of the victim, the bereaved family is still in shock over the unfortunate Incident.

The residence of the deceased pastor was indeed a sad atmosphere occasioned by the death of the breadwinner.

It was observed that burglary proof of the windows were pulled down by the suspected assailant who gained access into the premises. There was blood stains from gunshot wounds littering the apartment.

A friend of the deceased, Rev John Imoniche alleged that the suspected assilant who gained access through the window shot the victim and took his mobile phone. Rev Imoniche who said the death of the victim came to him as a real shock. He added that the 71-year-old pastor is a peace loving man and never made trouble with anyone.

At the time of filing this report, the police PRO of the Edo state division police headquarters, DSP Stephen Owoniche could not be reached as he was said to be on an official duty.
